Caring for your board on a regular basis keeps your board performing its best, which ultimately improves your riding skills.

After Each Ride
When you get home you should give your board a quick wipe-down. The reason for this is to get any surface dirt off your base, and to prevent the edges from rusting. This is especially important if your board travels via car rack where it is exposed to moisture and salt from the road.

Every Couple of Rides
After a couple of rides you should take a close look at your board to evaluate its needs for attention, which will depend on the conditions you've been riding. Icy conditions can dull your edges. Wet spring-like conditions can grind dirt into your base. Chances are you'll want to at least run a gummy stone along the edges to remove any burrs and surface rust. Check your binding bolts to make sure they aren't loose. Check the base to see if it needs waxed, which will usually be indicated by whitish areas. Use a liquid wax if you don't have time for a tune-up.
